
St. Mary's County Black History Coalition

SMCBHC is a non-profit, multipurpose community-based organization established on July 31, 2011, by friends and family with a shared interest of enhancing community growth.
OUR MISSION: To provide academic scholarship to eager students and broaden the awareness on social growth issues in the communities with roots tied to St. Mary's County.
SMCBHC will embark on the following:

Prompting educational development through our Dinah K. Somerville Scholarship Fund;

Giving hands-on examples and providing information to aid in the community's growth and personal success;

Emphasizing the importance of family unity and love; and,

Exciting our community with the celebration of black history.
